Effective
This is my personal site. It collects as little as it can function on. This page states what that little is, why, and what you can ask me to do with it.
What I collect
If you email me, I receive your email address, your name as it appears in your message, and whatever you write. My host records standard server logs for every visit, including IP address, browser and operating system, the page requested, and the time of the request. This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics, advertising, or tracking scripts. It stores one thing on your device—the appearance setting you choose in the footer—and that stays in your browser and never reaches me.
Why I collect it
I use what you send me to answer you and to keep a record of the correspondence. I use server logs to keep the site available and to defend it against abuse. I build no profiles, I target no advertising, and I train no models on your data.
Who else sees it
My hosting provider processes server logs on my behalf, and my email provider processes messages you send me. Both act on my instructions and for no other purpose. I disclose data beyond this only when the law requires it, and I never sell it.
How long I keep it
I keep correspondence for as long as the relationship it belongs to is live, and for three years after it ends. Server logs are kept for thirty days.
Your rights
You may ask me for a copy of what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to object to or restrict how I use it, to receive it in portable form, or to complain to your data protection authority. Write through the contact form and I will answer within thirty days. I do not charge for this.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has sent me information, write through the contact form and I will delete it.
Changes
If I change this policy I will change the effective date above and publish the new version here.
